Does The Web Represent Value?

Getting on the web with us can be very much cheaper than other forms of advertising and promotion. Your newspaper or trade press ad has a severely limited life span: often only one edition. Your coloured-pages directory entry is often only regional and involves extra cost to get wider geographical coverage. With printed matter you get charged by the line or word: just saying ‘hello’ can be expensive!

With the web you can have global visibility 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this year, next year, the year after...

Search engines cannot be relied upon to list your site at the top of their list when a potential visitor does a search. With over 15 million websites and billions of pages world wide this is no surprise. It is no easy matter to get a high ranking and even more difficult (and expensive) to maintain it.

You can, however, use your site proactively. All you need to do is to make potential clients or customers aware of your web site. For instance, you can put your catalogue or a full description of your services profile on the web and then advertise your web site in the local or trade press instead! In this way you can shorten your ads so that you can advertise your site more frequently. You get the best of both worlds by creating an awareness that you exist through the press, and detailed promotion of what you can offer through your web site. Cool!

Many companies advertise their web site as part of their vehicle livery, and some omit their phone number. It is far more anonymous for a potential client to find out about you from your web site rather than making a telephone call which can sometimes make people feel under pressure or obligated.
